QA is at the heart of APEM’s success.
From the smallest job to the high volume, APEM testing and QA processes are designed to ensure minimal defects. Our reputation depends on it so we’ve gone to great lengths to provide superior QA, frequently well beyond what is offered by our competitors.
Of course, APEM is ISO9002 and has the full complement of qualifications and certifications required by our demanding customer base. But our QA department goes the extra mile.
- Our overlay manufacturing process includes 100% visual inspection, so our overlays are delivered speck-free, with perfectly transparent windows and clear, well registered typography
- Our silk screening is color control guaranteed to Δ-e less than or equal to 2
- 100% functional testing is non negotiable at APEM. All keypads and LEDs must pass our proprietary testing equipment – customized to detect short circuits to 50,000 ohms
- Our insulation is 100% verified against micro short circuits
- APEM embossing is quality checked for both force and height by our Force Encoss equipment, so our keypads maintain the same tactile feedback sensation throughout the life of the product
- After assembly, our keypads pass a final inspection, with a control level of 3 and a NGA of 0.25, the highest possible level of qualification.
- Even upstream, we test our cutting tools via a SPC to detect any variation prior to seeing non conformity in the keypads
