BF Series - Contactless Paddle Joystick 2010-02-08

New sealing boots for rocker and pushbutton switches 2010-01-14

Sealing boot for KG rocker switches

This accessory is intended for mounting on any KG rocker switch, to improve resistance to dust, frost and mud. The front face of the rocker will also be modified, and for momentary functions, will reach tactile feel of a small membrane switch panel.

This silicone membrane is available in black (P/N U3084) and the actuator surface can be pad-printed with several colours. An example of pad printed membrane (U3083) is shown above.

Sealing boot for LPI pushbutton switches

The LPI series is a range of tactile pushbutton switches for indoor applications. It features the largest actuator and lowest behind-panel depth within the APEM switch range. It has been developed on a modular base to fit the exact needs of technicians and end-users: more than 300.000 configurations are available.

A sealing boot is now available to increase the sealing of any LPI pushbutton (up to IP67) and allow the use of these switches in outdoor applications. Available in black (U3082) but also translucent (U3088). Pad-printed legends can be added.

Controlmec™ - NEW - SEALED panel mount navigator 2010-01-12

Controlmec™ is a new five position integrated switch solution, designed for outdoor, dusty and humid applications, to control a unit, navigate in a display, operate auxiliary equipment on a vehicle, boat or similar. The Controlmec is sealed to IP67 and comprises:
- One solid cap, with a recess on the back for the seal efficiency.
- A gasket to seal between the cap and the customers panel.
- A support ring to ensure the right position of sealing behind the front plate.
- The PCB including the switches.

The PCB shall be mounted to the rear of the front panel by bolts to ensure the correct pressure for the sealing efficiency.

The Controlmec is an extension of the Navimec system which includes the high quality Multimec switches, with 10 million cycle lifetime. Configurations can be made with through-hole or SMD switch versions, provided they are accurately positioned.

New rear mounted pushbutton - IZ series 2009-07-31

APEM has expanded the « I » range of sealed switches with the introduction of a new ∅16mm pushbutton series.

The IZ series is a rear mounted pushbutton, available with a polyamide case or a metal case. This product has been designed to reduce the assembly cost in 2 cases : wave soldering and when using a connector. The IZ series allows flush panel mounting and makes dismounting easier.

1. WAVE SOLDERING

Possible thanks to the straight PC terminal option and the rear mounting feature. With a standard front mounting version, a manual soldering operation and a flying lead pushbutton are required.

2. QUICKER ASSEMBLY WITH A CONNECTOR

APEM’s engineering expertise and vertical integration have naturally led to develop specific switches and sub-assemblies to customer specifications. For instance, all types of connectors can be added inhouse to all existing switches, to simplify final assembly.

The IZ series is recommended when the panel hole dimension is smaller than the connector dimension. The customer saves time by mounting the pushbutton in the panel without removing the connector.

3. FLUSH MOUNTING

The IZ series is the first pushbutton within the "I" range allowing flush mounting. Especially the metal case bushing is available in 2 versions : one for fixed panel (option N) and one for variable panel thickness (option M).

4. EASIER DISMOUNTING

The IZ series makes dismounting easier of the device including this pushbutton, for maintenance or dismantling. Money and time are saved, but the environment is also protected !

The IZ series of sealed pushbutton switches comprises 2 product families :

• polyamide models, momentary or latching action

• Metal models, currently available only in latching

Illuminated or non-illuminated versions are available. Flat actuator option allows optional marking.

PBA series – Piezo switches – New catalogue 2009-06-03

APEM has considerably expanded its range of piezo switches, with many new models featured in a new 24-page catalogue. This catalogue highlights all the new options developed by APEM's R&D teams :

• a new dia. 19 mm bushing has been introduced between the existing dia. 16 mm and 22 mm. New shapes, especially with reduced above-panel height and 45° chamfer are also available.

• 2 new electrical functions have been developed: a Normally Closed output (NC) and a Normally Open prolongated momentary version. The second one requires only 2 wires and can replace a mechanical switch with all the advantages of the APEM piezo technology.

• The range of illumination options has been widely extended: models with multiple colors (2&3) are now available for ring illumination types, and 2 new illuminated rings (large and thin) are available for dia. 22mm models

Some configurations are approved according to the ATEX 94/9/CE directive, with the highest ATEX classifications. These products are dedicated to mining, chemical and petrochemical equipment.

APEM’s vertical integration and the PBA series modular conception allow APEM to offer custom configurations combining different shapes, materials, case and LED colors, terminal and marking types at a competitive price.
